I was born on August 28th,
1966, in Thessaloniki Greece. I graduated from the Economic
University of Thessaloniki and I work as an accountant. I am not
married.
I
learned the moves of chess when I was 12 years old and started
playing more seriously at the age of 16. All I could achieve in the
tournament arena was the title of FIDE Master in 1995.
In the
last years, I gradually lost interest and gave up tournament chess
to concentrate on problem solving and composing. As a result, I was
awarded the title of International Solving Master in 2004 and have
two GM norms.
I
composed my first problems before the age of 15, but I published my
first one much later. Between 1987 and 1991 roughly a dozen of my
problems were published. After a long break, I resumed chess
composition in 2001. I have published 175 problems in total. Two
thirds are proof games; of the rest, orthodox helpmates and fairies
hold the biggest share.
More
than half of my published problems are joint compositions. About 130
have been honored so far; 44 among them being prizes. To date, I
have 6 entries in the FIDE album (or 4.5 points) |
